Tim Brown’s Hack Week project has been finished and released, giving ROBLOX users a powerful tool to engage players.
Back in January, we introduced you to a feature that would let you add a rich media gallery, including videos and images, to your ROBLOX place. We’re happy to announce the feature is now available.
The big news is you can add 30-second YouTube videos to your game page for 1,000 ROBUX. We’re starting at this price because we want to encourage quality and ensure we have enough manpower to quickly moderate your submissions for appropriate, relevant video and audio. We recommend you not only follow YouTube’s guidelines – you don’t want your video removed by their moderators – but also focus on in-game ROBLOX footage. Make sure to read all the details here, then check out Sword Fights on the Heights IV for a great example of this feature in action.
Image uploads cost 20 ROBUX each and they are moderated, as well.
How to Add Custom Video and Images
Once you’ve recorded your 30 seconds of footage using ROBLOX’s built-in capture tool and made any edits you’d like, upload it to YouTube. Then, go to Places under My ROBLOX and click the “Configure” link. This will take you to a screen that lets you “Add New Gallery Item” and enter the YouTube URL of your video. Your video will be pending until it passes our check.
This is also where you upload images, and click and drag gallery items to change their order.
We’ll be monitoring the volume of video submissions as we move forward to make sure we have enough moderation resources. If at any point your video doesn’t display, or uploading is not available, rest assured the downtime is temporary.

The price is perfect. People should stop saying lower it because then the mods would have to mderate 1000 videos a day! That is a lot of time where they could be making new updates.

It would have to be ‘buy robux’ unless they had a popular place – to get 1000 robux (about 10000 tix) just from daily login bonuses, one would have to have been on roblox for just over 27 years, logging on every day!

100 tix is too low. There starting price is good because the they will be able to fix and update more important things instead of moderating these videos.
Really, $1000 RObux? Why not 50? You should make it a lower price. If you find an offensive video, I recommend you ban them. For a week.

I understnad why roblox made it so expensive just imagine if it was 10 robux roblox would have to review thousands of videos per day and there would be complaints becuase people would say there videos werent showing up, also by commited users they mean people that get lots of views I think because if your on the front page you can convert your tix from views into robux and get enough for the video just look at base wars for example.QUESTION: If someone goes to your game and watches your video does that give you a view on youtube?
I understand your guys’ hating on this. I’m NBC myself and my BC expired 15 days ago :(… I only have about $3000 RBx, but I can’t go on my games and PAY FOR $1000 for a video. ROBLOX, I can kind of understand because of the economy. Us kids and teens are not affected by it much. Kinda give us a break on it and lower the price to $500 RBx, it seems a bit more friendly… Chuck Norris out!

I think halfing the price for video would be better.
People, you must know that ROBLOX does not just want anyone posting videos- especially since the feature is new and there could be bugs. They want to make sure the older players and more experienced players get a chance to see this first. I understand why they made it 1,000R$- not everything is free, you know.

I’m pretty sure it’s intended for BC, TBC, and OBC because it would be not many NBC’s make popular videos and you would be wasting money if you did and your video was only visited like 20 times.

I agree, But i think the pictures should be 10 tickets, because it is alot easier on younger kids, i mean think, not everyone’s mom or dad is going to let their child buy 10 dollar game cards from something they have never heard of. Now, an easy way to solve this problem is advertising on TV, becuase then parents, seing the add, may rethink it, and let their kids buy roblox cards.
1000 is a little overboard. Maybe 500 is good. For images? Insert a brick with your decal on it resize look at it save and adjust.

This is an excellent new feature, However 1000 robux for a video is a bit too much. The price for a picture is fine though. But does anyone know the good dimensions to use??? I cant get it right and I don’t want to waste money. :\
I think the dimentions of the thumbnail are 950 by 520.
