Trade System ScreenshotThe time is nigh! One of the most anticipated ROBLOX features is nearing completion. Beta testing of the trading system will begin within the next few weeks. As many of our more economically inclined users know, it can be difficult to exchange items with one another when all of an account’s equity is locked away in assets. This is especially true for rare and high value items. The Trading System will allow Builders Club members to exchange limited items with one another without needing to have cash on hand.

How Will It Work?

1. Go to the profile of a user with whom you wish to trade. There will be a “Trade” button on their inventory.
2. Clicking this button will open a window, showing each user’s tradable items.

Tradable Items3. Each of the displayed items will have an “Add to Trade” action available.
4. Once you’ve built the trade to your liking, you can submit it.

Trade Sent5. Submitting a new trade will notify the user via private message.
6. Outstanding and completed trade offers will also be listed in a new tab on the My Money page.

My Money7. Viewing an outstanding offer opens a modal allowing the user to “Accept”, “Decline” and “Counter Offer” the trade.

Note: These rules will likely evolve as we learn how the system is used.

Q: Who will be able to make trades?
A: The trading system is a premium feature for paying members. You will need a current Builders Club membership in order to execute trades.

Q: Will users be able to exchange non-limited items?
A: No. Only trade of limited items will be allowed. We want to preserve the option to offer items in the future that you can only get by earning them, rather than through trade.

Q: What about off-sale non-limited items?
A: Concurrent with the release of the Trade System, we plan to go through a backlog of off-sale catalog items and make them limited.

Q: Will the Trade System be real-time or request based?
A: The initial release of the Trade System will be request based, however the system architecture is designed to support real-time trading. Real-time trading is a feature we may introduce later depending on demand.

Q: Do Trade Requests expire?
A: Yes. Trade offers that you create will have an expiration period. If they expire before the other party accepts, they will no longer be valid.

Q: Is there a fee for making a trade?
A: There is no fee to make a trade.

Q: Can I make more than one trade at a time?
A: Yes. You can have multiple outstanding trades.

Q: …With the same items?
A: Yes. You can have the same item in multiple outstanding trades. Only one of those trades will be able to complete successfully.

  1. I personally think this should be for EVERYONE not just b.c. and I think you should be able to trade anything with anyone because some clothes and other things go off sale and someone wants it while you want something of theres you can trade anything you pleased to another person.

  7. Guys, stop fussing about not being able to trade non-limiteds. It’s so annoying. I don’t wanted normal stuff being traded to me for my valueable limited stuff. Keep it limiteds only. Plus, I like you will get to trade your limted time stuff. Greatest update of the year.

    • Well I dis-agree with you! because We NBC’s don’t have any good features so I think the trade feature should be open to all users.

    • It is free to play but you pay for benefits, the membership programs are used to maintain the company.. without membership programs there would be no ROBLOX.

    • Some NBCers were BC/TBC/OBC once, or got rich by their games, so yeah, pretty much NBCers have Limiteds and many rares.. >_>

  19. This seems like a great idea, but I have a few critisms. NBC should be allowed to trade also, I am a BC, but we have a lot of priveleges already. Additionally, we should be able to trade all items, not just limited items. Thanks, and please excuse my spelling

  31. this will fail. the more you keep adding to bc only the more people are going to get mad. since roblox is about over half nbc you could lose more than you gain. give the nbc some cool stuff for a change, they were the start of roblox. without em, you wouldnt be able to sell builders club

  33. Is it possible that you can trade currency with the other side as well and not just items?

  34. Would it be possible to make this feature, or the sale of limiteds, a feature for people who have had BC in the past, but ran out? Many people who have had BC in the past have limiteds that they would like to sell, and not allowing for one of these two options could ultimately result in only 1 or 2 copies of a limited hat being available.

  36. Stop hating. ROBLOX needs it to be BC so people can buy it. ROBLOX needs the money people bought BC with so they can thrive and grow. Without bc items, (Trading, Bodies, Etc…) No one would buy it. And ROBLOX would go bankrupt. If you can’t buy Bc tough. Go bug somewhere else! Just BUY it.

    • well they should keep everything else BC thats already done. but this should rly b for NBC people too. if they do make it NBC, there also need to remember to not allow NBC people to get BC stuff.

  38. 2 things:
    1) It should be nbc so that everyone can use. Or selling limited items should become an nbc feature.
    2) We should be able to trade all items. Some people might want to trade for my Black Steel Throwing Bats gear and I would trade it for the 1337 R0807 gear. Sadly both are not limited so we should be able to trade them!!

    • Agreed, I think this feature should be NBC & you should be able to add in extra cash on trades to even deals aswell as being to trade non-limiteds, ~From an OBC, double super clan leader SpetnazCaptain.

  41. Well look a trading system….another way to get players to buy Bc…Nbc’s should ateast get atleast a couple good benifits…

    • Yeah they should like pay NBC 2 or 3 robuxs a day and let NBC fet morphs too it’s like packages is only for BC’s

      • You get one robuck a day, 10 tix = 1 robuck. NBC’s do have fair treatment, they can do almost Everything on the site without making their wallet lighter. besides, BC is 6 dollars a day, not 600.

  42. Really cool! And I cant wait to attempt to trade for a Crimson Catseye. But I am dissapointed that the Trade Feature id going to be Builder’s Club only. I understand it makes sense that it is, but if free members could trade, they might have a better reason to JOIN Builder’s Club. So they can buy items to trade for items they want. Just a thought. But yea, I cant wait!

        It is perfectly fine for it to be BC only. I’m BC. But, you can only sell limiteds if you are BC. So it makes scence. ROBLOX wasn’t doing it for money, just to be fair.

    • They won’t, they said that bodies were ‘BC Beta’ yet is 2 years and about 60 packages later and it’s still BC only.

  49. Can you trade groups for like robuxs? Because a lot of people get scammed from buying groups or models. We didn’t want a trading system which doesn’t cover the things that you cant get scammed from….

    A lot of people would like it to do more than just limited items…

    • No you can not trade or buy groups off of people. You can attempt to trade the standard way, but there are o’ so many ways to get scammed.

  52. In my opinion, im on both sides. I agree that it should be BC- only bc they need money to run ROBLOX right? They could either make this for all robloxians and later make you p2p(I don’t like) OR you just buy bc and lots of ppl do, and we wont have to p2p later on. BUT, I do agree that Non bcers have been waiting for this since roblox debuted. So, I think make it nonbcers too for the first month. That way everyone wins. ( And plz quit the complaning. Just buy BC its not expensive. You freakin n00bzz)

  64. Roblox creator Haven’t done anything good for nbc lately , Roblox is just gonna become another site like free realms , fusion fall , where you have to pay just to get anything , Do something good for nbc please – To the roblox admin narbs

    • There not making enough revenue so they have to get people to buy BC somehow, and if people dont they might have too
