We have a big vision. The future of ROBLOX is an online world where many physical phenomena are simulated. Ultimately, wind will blow small parts around, metal wires will conduct electricity, lasers will cause wooden parts to burst into flame, magnets will attract parts made of iron, and water will freeze, flow and vaporize. This is not a world that will be composed only of blocks. Our characters will evolve and adapt to live in this world.

Over the last few months, we have been sharing our development progress on new bodies, heads and faces for ROBLOX characters. Each of the four blog posts we’ve published has received upward of 1,000 impassioned comments. Your feedback has helped us, but we have also noticed that some of our users are concerned about the new character parts.

The new bodies, heads and faces will be optional, and all previous character parts will remain available. The character parts will not release as the default in ROBLOX. They will initially be available to Builders Club members in the Catalog. Controlling the release will allow us to evaluate how the new body parts fit in with the greater ROBLOX world.

ROBLOXian 2.0In 2010, there was concern when ROBLOX introduced new body parts. However, ROBLOX users have adopted the body and its various morphs almost 1 million times. If you prefer a first- or second-generation ROBLOXian, I encourage you to stay with it. We are placing the power in your hands, which is a theme that permeates the ROBLOX platform.

  2. The new bodies seem realistic, and fun. Even the new river updates and stuff. But honestly, RO>BLOX< has had a reputation of being blocks. I speak for all the older players- you're taking this way too far. I suggest just making another game, or finding new stuff to do with the bricks! You're just gonna get sued by others. Like LEGO, for instance.

I don’t really like these bodies,Mostly because their too much like life,Were only going to be PLAYING not living our lives on roblox.I like how roblox is right now,I think its almost perfect,Easy,and nice to use! i don’t want to be using a complicated real life game then it turns into OD’ing.This is a kids website roblox!

    • Well, They say it will be for both NBC and BC. But it will star with just BC and then becom NBC, But thats what they said about the 2.0 Bodies and they never became NBC

  8. The new bodies are good, but the only problem is that ROBLOX will be sued by lego again! When Was It First Sued? During Part Of The Good Times (2004-2010), Over the studs. Now it’s in the OK times (2010-present)

    • Honestly, I don’t mind these new bodies, sure this takes the “Blox” out of Roblox. But making it optional is much easier. And the freezing water, magnets, lasers, etc. Are amazing! I mean sure, it’s not blocks, but think about all of the possibilities! The update will be weird. But just like the Robloxian 2.0 Body it’s going to take some time for people to adjust to the new Roblox style. ~Marl

  15. Omg my goodness… my hiccups went away when I saw this. I, like the rivers and all, but these bodies…. are we KREO or something? I also hate the new FPS bricks, no offense, it’s like Minecraft bricks, and if they took some time to see the things WIJ have made with the regular bricks, they would not have added those Minecraft Bricks.

    • Dude, I agree. Did you notice that after they made the bricks like that, they allowed you to say “minecraft” in-game?

  16. I dont want these new bodies. They look wierd, and they may look cool to others, I dont think they are. (not trying to sound mean or anything) As soon as these are made and put out for sale, Im quitting Roblox and going to find a different hobby to do instead of watching wierd 3D people walk around me while I am wearing Robloxian 2.0

  17. If these bodies are added, they should be avalible to all, because premium members are already separated enough from the average member. PLEASE spend more time on the physics and new items rather than bodies and premium items, because that seems to be the only stuff being done by roblox nowadays.

  18. Alright, the bodies I can put up with, but what is this rubbish about rivers and what not? not being made by blocks? That will completely change the whole game. Go ahead, do it, but the day that happens is the day I quit Roblox, and I am sure I am not the only one.

    Maybe you should make a seperate game for this, because it will just not be the same. I speak for everyone that wants Roblox to stay as it is, of course I don’t meant hat literily, obviously things need to be fixed, tweaked and updated, but it should be left as Blocks and nothing else.

  20. If this kind of crap happens, cya OBC because I’ll be off to Minecraft playing with my friends instead of playing this trash. It’s good how it is now, If all this happens Roblox with be down for much time, and then Roblox will get a lot of hatemail about it, losing members per minute. What I’m trying to say, in all, is that If this does happen then I’ll quit, obviously. That will ALSO be a waste of my time, since I’ve gotten a Dominus, to be exact it’s the Ice one, and I’ve gotten many limiteds. Also 24K+ kills and somewheres like 2-3K deaths total.

    • I agree. This is ROBLOX. Idc if they take the “BLOX” Out of roblox. This is roblox (i repeat) Not RO-HUMANS. If this ever happens i’ll be less active on roblox and more active on Raze 2.

  24. I think its copying minecraft the body morph is lego like you could get a lawsuit from kreo lego and minecraft i disagree with this.

    • They teamed up with kreo for battleship… There was a battleship robloxian 3.0 BODY the guy was wearing… I dont think theyll get sued.

  26. Oh come on. You said that 2.0 was BC only for testing, and it stayed that way. These are going to stay BC only. Everyone is saying ‘Change is good!’ ‘These look cool’, but it’s pretty painful to just watch the change, not be part of it. After all, that’s what school is attempting to encourage. Be the change.

    And here you are, having NBCers stand on the side lines, again. If these are BC only, make 2.0 for everyone.

  38. First of all, I DO think that the 2.0 bodies go better with most shirts, and pants, but these are gonna get Roblox a lawsuit with Kreo and Lego. Plus the faces just look ugly. There’s NO way im wearing these. Add me , DESTROYERASSASIn. (all caps).

  39. @rpg7755: I agree that they should open the 2.0 Body Morphs to the Non-BC people. ROBLOX just doesn’t know how much these people get picked on because they don’t have some type of body torso. 3/4 of the time when I enter a game, they get picked on. And it’s not their fault. Maybe they can’t buy it because they ran out of money or that their parents won’t buy them a ROBLOX Card to buy Robux. It is truely sad, and I think they should let them have 2.0 Bodies.

  40. I think this is a good idea. The ROBLOX community can’t just stay the same forever. I will say it does look a BIT like LEGOtm and KREE-Otm, but not exactly. I have a bunch of LEGOtm sets I build, and these Prototypes look a smidge bit different. I am also concerned about how this will either increase or decrease ODing, I think it may increse the chances, but I guess ROBLOX has to do it for the people. They can’t make just one person happy. Overall, I think it will be good, the good outcome is higher than the worrysome outcome. So this technically may be a good, new, better improvment to ROBLOX. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. :)

  46. I think the more physical accurate roblox will be better, like with the water flow. But the new bodies that they might make wont be too good. Im BC but i think that they shud open up the 2.0 to everyone

    If that DOSE happen, please add a option to not have that look.

  48. To the people saying this is a bad idea. Would you people prefer ROBLOX to stay the same forever? ROBLOX is evolving, as everything must. If it stayed the same, forever, it would just be boring. I think its good the new bodies are optional. They look great, the new physics ROBLOX is creating are going to be fun. So really, theres nothing to complain about!

      • Honestly, why do YOU care about the OD’ers?
        They will eventually get banned and they don’t harm you in the first place.

    • but eventually the new morphs will start getting boring then the “New Gen” characters will ask veterans (Like myself) what is was like before all this 3G stuff came and then New Gens will start: asking, begging, and sending hatemail to the creators and admins therefore leading Roblox bankrupt less players then they will have to start from the beginning when they have to join other players to play with. This will keep on going and never stop.

    • I see that you want more ODers, MR. But it is good that these bodies are optional. Not wearing them. I’m only fine with wind, power lines, lasers, water, etc.

  49. These bodies look really weird… I’ve been on roblox for almost 4 years, I guess the 2.0 body was okay but this is kinda taking things too far. And looks like something that would promote ODing.

  52. This one is hated by many, me included. You shouldn’t do this. Here are my four points: They attract OD’ers, they’re unoriginal (Resembles a Lego/KRE-o Hybrid); and thus could get you sued, one of the Sarge faces has blood on it, and minority ruling caused you to keep going on with it.

      • The whole reason I joined the game only a year back, in January 2011, was the whole blocky building. Now what do I see? ROBLOX is becoming LegoCraft. You lied to me, ROBLOX. I was searching for a good multiplayer game to spend my time with, and all the good things about this game have disappeared. One day I will quit, but not like you care, ROBLOX. And I certainly didn’t join ROBLOX to watch the coolest building game ever get thrown into Father Time’s trashcan. I personally think the bodies are okay, but eventually ROBLOX will have to give it up. For all their efforts, they’ve done NOTHING for us.

The bodies look like there gonna be used for OD were trying to prevent that look at the males they’re beefed up.I’m gonna wear any of the new bodies they look awkward.I doubt even a noob would wear them Its ROBLOX key word BLOX I’m not wearing any new generation bodies this is a huge change they look too different and those characters in the picture do not scream ROBLOX.

  66. i think they made a bad decision about these morphs i wouldnt like having to look one way like tha new morphs i would prefer the 2.0 morph where you can cahnge how you look not just the same as everone else i recamend you make a different morph instean of this one

  69. These bodies look cool, but I can’t really see them as ROBLOX bodies, and I like the 1.0 and 2.0 bodies better. I know that they are optional, and I think this freedom of choice is great. I’m interested to see these new bodies, and I know that they will be awesome! After this change though, I hope there’s no other huge updates for a while at least.   70. I think all of the physics-based updates, like buoyancy and ropes are fine, and they’ll expand ideas for great games. But the bodies are not that great looking, and Roblox probably IS going to be sued by Lego. Just stop worrying about how the characters look, and focus more on the gameplay itself!
