We have a big vision. The future of ROBLOX is an online world where many physical phenomena are simulated. Ultimately, wind will blow small parts around, metal wires will conduct electricity, lasers will cause wooden parts to burst into flame, magnets will attract parts made of iron, and water will freeze, flow and vaporize. This is not a world that will be composed only of blocks. Our characters will evolve and adapt to live in this world.

Over the last few months, we have been sharing our development progress on new bodies, heads and faces for ROBLOX characters. Each of the four blog posts we’ve published has received upward of 1,000 impassioned comments. Your feedback has helped us, but we have also noticed that some of our users are concerned about the new character parts.

The new bodies, heads and faces will be optional, and all previous character parts will remain available. The character parts will not release as the default in ROBLOX. They will initially be available to Builders Club members in the Catalog. Controlling the release will allow us to evaluate how the new body parts fit in with the greater ROBLOX world.

ROBLOXian 2.0In 2010, there was concern when ROBLOX introduced new body parts. However, ROBLOX users have adopted the body and its various morphs almost 1 million times. If you prefer a first- or second-generation ROBLOXian, I encourage you to stay with it. We are placing the power in your hands, which is a theme that permeates the ROBLOX platform.

  1. Well, at least it’s optional but OBVIOUSLY, ANOTHER BC Only item. I mean, I HATE the new suggested bodies & Parts, but jeez! Every time U turn a corner “BC Only.” “BC Only.” “BC Only.” “BC Only.” “BC Only.” “BCOnly.” “BCOnly.” “BCOnly.” “BCOnly.” “BCOnlyBCOnlyBCOnlyBCOnly.”"BCONLYBCONLYBCONLYONLYONLYONLY” RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH IT’S FRIGGIN’ ANNOYING! YA KNO SOME OF US CAN’T AFFORD BC! AND MORE OF US HAVE PARENTS THAT THINK IT’S A WASTE OF MONEY & WON’T LET U! I COULD get BC. Right now. Nornal 12 Month Membership. But I’m savin’ up ’till I can get Lifetime. That way I buy ONCE and I’m DONE. I need $140 more. Then it’s to BC Land for me. :D But it’s not gonna change me. I’ll still be the same old Drift. Just with a few more account perks. And if I can help it I’m not playing or making any BC Only games. Friends Only maybe. BC Only no. Ya C… that’s the biggest problem with BC. Let’s say U have a friend on here, just like U, a normal commoner… an NBCer. U 2 are like two peas in a pod. You hang out every day. Then one of U gets BC. What happens? The BCer now spends half his/her time online in BC Only games knowing very well that his friend cannot follow. He also starts making BC Only games and buying BC Only items then bragging about them. Then he creates BC Only items. And it slowly escalates until it rips that pea pod apart and the force sends you flying thousands of miles away from each other. So when U get BC, don’t turn into, as I call them… a “BC Brat”. BC Brats are becoming less and less rare by the day. Sad really. And I invite any BCers to reply to this saying I’m wrong. Just try and find a flaw in this. Because I am only typing what I C here. And what I have expierienced first hand maybe twice now. Go and live your spoiled rotten BC life. Go on. Go do that… and c how well you can sleep at night.

    • You can’t afford BC? So you can’t pay 6 dollars for a membership but you can pay for your computer?….Where’s the logic in that?

  2. Why, oh why is it BC only??? We NBC want to look alike to everyone! We don’t want to have to buy cheaper things than others! What about your TV ad? It’s “free”. Give everyone the freedom to buy any catalog item for FREE! Ad says free. I am not seeing it though.

  6. I like the water and magnetism and block interactions, But the body pars are just too extreme and ruin the general theme of ROBLOX. The new bodies (When it was 2010.) was ok. But these are too similar to lego.

  16. Roblox, a generally addicting game in my opinion. I like the 2.0 body idea, and possible 3.0, but I don’t entirely agree with it. Roblox *was* a game about blocks, just blocks. I stuck with that idea, and I’m suprised some of the older players still play the game, even after all of these updates. But before anything, put aside the minor updates and deal with the exploiters.

  19. I like the idea of the new physics wich is awsome but. I do not like the idea of the 3rd gen bodies.I may be BC and all that but still keep the Roblox theme.Besides that the new physics would be great!

  20. What’s the point ROBLOX? Any new, cool, thing you add is always BC only.

    And that about the 2.0 bodies. They are all still BC after your proposed 30 BC bodies. This is ridiculous.

    At least give a free body package to every player in ROBLOX and auto gift it to anyone who makes a new account.

  23. I love these bodies, but BC? I have had it up to here with those spoiled people getting every single ammenity available. NBCs are people too in case no one BC member has realized because they’re too busy counting their Robux manually, or the number of body morphs they have. If Roblox 3.0 becomes BC, then 2.0 should be for NBC and 1.0 should be for guests.

    • BC’s aren’t all jerkfaces. I buy 1 month at a time of BC and it takes me two months to earn just ONE month of BC. Yeah NBC’s are people, but BCers are too.

    Dude, I used to be NBC, but did you ever think of buying it for yourself? And anyways, EVERY online game, other than Minecraft, has a membership to gain money. They need money to keep the website going, but still offer it for free. Pm me if you want to debate more about it, because I bet I can win this debate. Also, Roblox has so many people NOT complaining, you honestly think they are going to change something for you? Stop being so full of yourself and look at reality.

    “robots and blocks” and these are obviously not robots nor blocks they’re human bodies made for ODing.If these come out I’ll quit and just continue playing minecraft and other stuff and many others will quit to. :) this website is ruined.

  27. Guys, calm down. First of all, ROBLOX needs a method of testing these so-called prototypes before making it a widespread feature. Do you know why this is? Well, take for example the new groups theme. this wasn’t optionnal and is for nbc members as well. this caused widespread rage in the forums for weeks. There is no way this is getting into the game without BC Testing first, they tend to be the demographic that takes testing seriously.

  28. Bc, Bc, Bc, Everything’s BC! Trading-BC Making clothes-Bc certain BODIES-BC! It’s all of BC and well, That my friend, Is bad. I know people who quit because they were NBC and like, Didn’t have anything to do. if we use morphs in GAMES, We get made fun of. It’s just, Not cool man. Not cool.

  29. Whats the big concern about this?
    Do you guys even know why there is BC, TBC, and OBC.
    Its because having servers, for ROBLOX to allow you to build your games, to pay the employees. Without a membership of some sort, ROBLOX would shutdown.
    @ Whoever said something about LU(Lego Universe) I’m sure with the way your comment was you dont realize why LU shut down. It was because they didnt make enough money. They had a tremendous amount of free to play and a small amount compared to that of membership players. EVERYTHING has to cost money, or it can not run.

  30. There’s two things complaining people on here have to realize…

    1. The new bodies are optional, meaning you don’t have to get them. (I won’t be getting them)

    2. Normal BC is amazing. 5$ monthly via credit, $10 for one month via roblox card for all these benefits. I recently got BC since roblox cards came out, I couldn’t do credit.

  43. I’m with the NBCers, but, I don’t think NBC should have access right off the bat. I say that we have BC+ members try it out for a month and then they ask everyone who bought them if they liked it or not. If they don’t they are to tell them why they didn’t and then the ROBLOX staff could get together and decide if NBCers can use these bodies.

  45. People who are saying that it is stupid, they didn’t read the part about it being optional. But…. I would like it if owners of places could make their places where you can’t have the new bodies. Anyone could wear them into the place, bu they would have on the original bodies ingame.

  60. So when would non-BC (NBC) users be able to purchase the new bodies? Also, with the 2nd Gen Bodies being outdated with the new Gen, we should be able to “turn on” second generation bodies in our “Account” Tabs, and when it is on, the bodies will appear in the “Packages section of our Character Modification Tab. Thoughts or ideas, anyone?

  66. Maybe we could make water flow, instead of it being a uncancollide moving decal brick that the rules of density apply to.

  70. If ROBLOX wants to be something other than ROBLOX nothing I can do about it then other than leave. It feels like they forgot what made them great. Just have fun trying to make a real life simulator, fans won’t be happy, but you’ve been annoying us since early 2011 and have just ignored us. Have fun ruining what made this website so great. When I look back at this website I hope I can still recognize it…
