In the time since its launch, ROBLOX has gone from being compatible with Internet Explorer to five major browsers, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera. As part of our ongoing effort to streamline ROBLOX, we recently removed a legacy of single-browser support: the embedded browser in the ROBLOX Player.

This browser occasionally caused problems for users with a default browser other than Internet Explorer and slight confusion as to whether you should browse games in the Player or on Roblox.com. Now, there is a clear distinction between browsing, which takes place in your preferred web browser, and game play, which happens in the ROBLOX Player. We believe a faster, leaner application will benefit ROBLOX users more in the long run than the Player’s web browser.

We’re particularly interested in hearing about what seem to be isolated difficulties browsing ROBLOX games using a modern browser, such as Chrome, on a computer that is three or more years old.

  2. Mozzila Firefox and Google Chrome are much faster browsers and dont have junk all over the place like IE does.

  3. Is this talking about when on your desktop you click the roblox sign and it doesnt come on with the roblox browser it comes on, on chrome,Internet explorer,firefox,safari or opera?

  4. The main reason I use my web browser rather than the ROBLOX player is tabs. I like surfing the ROBLOX games, players, and items and sometimes I want to click on multiple things at the same time. My web browser also seems to run faster.

If you do not want Roblox to dislike your new browser, stop lying about how you made it compatible, when all you did was just remove the Play Roblox button so people would get these “video ads”, all of this is just a scam to support more sponsors, make members mad and to make more money. Please allow your game to keep it’s original substance, and not what’s for your wallets.

  11. If you gave me admin i would use it properly not banning using commands i would delete the threats on roblox that make it unfun that be gross to roblox and roblox player i would help everyone and not be one ofthose threats.

    • Was that really needed? and you have to EARN admin you know help people out and send loads of suggestions and be really active and that (I think anyway) and I cant believe I forgot to mention that most of the admins (probably ALL of them) helped make roblox.

      • To be an admin on roblox you need to be employed by ROBLOX. they don’t just let people be admins for suggesting things all the time and helping people out

  13. I would like to see the option of a studio window so you can see explorer and things and if you were in someone else’s game you could then see, but not edit their scripting for learning.

  14. Roblox needs a binary scanner, like punkbuster for Battlefield one. It simply scans to see any and all running applications that are affecting roblox in strange ways. Its FAR to easy to hack; my cousin set it up in less than five minutes on a whim on her comp. Not that shes a bad person, see just wanted to see how easy it really was. Roblox should be a fun place for everyone, but for those who want to hack, it should be an extremely punishing experience.

    • Cheat Engine has been rendered mostly useless with ROBLOX exploit patches. Removing all admin scripts would actually decimate core components to some games (the admin commands originally created by Person299 has been influential in some development), and so ROBLOX can’t do that. Rest assured that ROBLOX teams don’t like exploiters and they’re working on solutions as we speak. It takes a lot to stop them without breaking other things.

Okay, so, Roblox is cool and all, but its the hackers that make Roblox more unfun, they use a program called Cheat Engine, Whatsoever, this Roblox Player, I dont like it, because it makes Roblox feel unRobloxy, It doesnt feel like im acturlly playing, it gets me the feeling of boredom. I wish the old Roblox was back.

    • They actually working on antihacking program right now. Im sure of it because at the RGC 2012 In ideas Someone said “Remove hackers” They said Something will be released for hacker in some weeks

  20. while i would Love aversion for ios im leaning more torwards the systems like ps3 xbox 360 and wii but i think it would be great on the 3ds or psp vita because they can do the 3-d graphics well but on regular psp and regular ds would be great as i own a dsi XL… and it can do 3-d graphics just not amazingly

  21. I’m a 2008er and until you decided to let users use chrome I used the studio browser because the player seemed useless, which it is. You have made the right choice to remove it but you gotta keep one in studio!!!

  22. Deal with hackers as first about every game I go to has a hacker and I use chrome it works ten times as fast as inter exploreer and mozilla firefox

    • That would be chaos because 1 million+ people’s ideas would meld together and we could have tornadoes ponys unicorns dragons mansions etc. Pure Chaos.

  24. Roblox should have a specific port to open, it to hard to play not having a specific port.

  25. The best thing robox can do is make robox player for ios an andriod. it dosent have to be very powerful but its not rocket science to make an app. If they can do this for minecraft then there should be a way to play robox on your smart phone.

      • It is definitely rocket science if you’re trying to port a 3d interactive game played on the computer into a tiny phone. and playing on android would not be a good idea since phones are too small to control roblox on..that being said, the ipad is a great choice for roblox

I Have 3 Ideas.The first one is before you update anything you should do away with hackers.My secound idea is make it so people over a certen age could post out of site links but you have to aporve of the site first.And my theerd and finale idea is make it so NBC players can ATLEAST SELL T-SHIRTS FROM 1 TIX TO 100 AND SAME FOR ROBUX.

  27. Besides of all the hacking,Exploiting, and Admin abuse. Ide rly like to have a game where it doesnt lag AT ALL. Roblox should make a PERMANENT lag reducer. And yah scripters and stuff can make them but if roblox made one with all their little doohickies, they could make a Beast Lag Destroyer.

    • you can’t make a lag reducer you can only find a way on making the problem simpler which will cause less lag

  28. I can’t play any games with any of the search engines.Even with ROBLOX Player.

  29. Mozilla Firefox kind of lags on my laptop. Chrome works the best, because it doesn’t lag. Internet Explorer is OK. I recommend Chrome the most. I haven’t tried any others yet.

  30. Like someone said, make it compatible on newer phones, find another way to run ROBLOX instead of having to use a larger item, because Adobe may not work on a phone.

  31. Make it so not everything is Bc only and stuff like body morphs & certain stuff like private servers

      • So… were you just asleep or something when they made all those things like making the only hats that NBCers could afford BC only, and that time when they made BC only places, making groups, making and selling shirts and pants, selling limiteds, making personal servers, making mega places, daily robux, making badges, BC only bodies that they specifically said they would make NBC after they were done testing TWO YEARS AGO, and oh lets not forget BUYING 99% OF ALL ROBLOX HATS BECAUSE THEY’RE SO FREAKING EXPENSIVE!!!

  32. Roblox is better in google chrome,but the problem is that the chat settings nor party chat is on google chrome.Basically google chrome is the BEST but the chat settings UGH…

  33. Roblox launches fine from Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. I haven’t tried it on Safari, but it is kinda buggy on Opera. Occasionally, I get a Null Error. This also happens to Google Chrome, but rarely.

  34. 1: windows 8 Metro app:
    2: maybe some more optimization to the browser
    3: a nice blue theme just like in the website
    4: some buttons for it that links to your profile and forums ect
    5: a better error handling system
    6: Dont use IE for the browser, the old roblox browser uses the internet explorer functioned browser which makes it slow.

  35. I’m having the issue that everytime i open the *.ink* Roblox Player and Roblox.exe, it opens google chrome.

      • Idiot. You should insert logic (and proper grammar) into the situation before you criticize others. He most likely doesn’t USE chrome, so it coming up in chrome instead of whatever browser he uses probably comes as a surprise to him.

  37. omg i want the normal browser back it was more funny and everything was normal when i like to trade items with internet explorer i can’t make offers :c so i need to open chrome :c WE WANT OLD BROWSER BACK!!

      • Memory doesn’t matter that much when running roblox, Ram and a good processor is what is more important because my laptop has a low amount of memory and it can run roblox fine

  40. You should really think about making ROBLOX work on tablets, XBOX360s, PS3s, Wiis, PSPs etc… SERIOUSLY! Say if we go on holiday, and the next day we were about to receive meeages fro friends and players on ROBLOX or get R$. You can’t take the PC with you. What do you do? Sit and not enjoy your whole holiday just because ROBLOX doesn’t work on your tablet. WELL YOU SHOULD REALLY THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT THAT AND ADD IT IN THE APPROPIATE FUTURE!!!

    Well, not the launcher app…it was on a webpage or something. Can’t remember. Saw on forums. Long time ago. It was really bad code that I could optimize. Uh…I’ll try looking for it, but I probably won’t have any luck.

  43. Mozilla Firefox is the best to use, but Google Chrome is good for extensions. I would choose Mozilla Firefox.

    I’ve been a Loyal player since 2006, and now I have this error, and I am unable to play the game I love! >.<

  46. Worried about what browser you’re using? Just get a Mac. It works on Safari just fine.

Roblox you shouldnt do one thing because loads of people are angry because you took build from roblox studio 1 dont mind saying in your release of Roblox Studio 2.0 you said that we can stick to Roblox Studio if you want but you took build away from Roblox Studio means you drag people yo Roblox Studio 2.0 and when I go on roblox studio 2.0 it crashes more often than Roblox Studio 1 did in a week if you want to make the robloxians of roblox happy again put build back on Roblox 2.0 because soon people wont want to build on roblox because it laggy and it crashes I hope that I helped Robloxians :-)

  48. Roblox should focus on 2 things, improving gameplay, and expanding to more platforms. I can’t wait for Roblox for iOS, because I would love to play Roblox on the go and just hook up to a WiFi zone. For gameplay, maybe make better GUIs that can display videos, or add plugins to Roblox Studio for quicker scripting, like round scripts for a disaster game. This is Roblox for a reason, the possibilities are endless.

  51. Hey Roblox Developers First Thing Fix The Exploits! I know How They Are Doing It They Download A File For DLL To Get Toolbar To Hack They Use Cheat
    Engine And Texcode.dll.dll Is The File Name Your Welcome :3

    • That wouldent help them… but i have an idea that might :Maybe you guys at roblox HQ could add a permanent script that stops anyone from having the toolbar in a roblox game unless its creator Or somthing like that…. please tell me if this helps!

To be quite honest, I have been playing ROBLOX since 2006 and I have met many diverse people from all over that had different opinions and tastes, I have met multiple people who have said that ROBLOX needs to have increased graphic quality, People have also said ROBLOX needs a bit more advertisement (TV commercials, etc), Nobody has ever asked for my opinion, I think ROBLOX should be ROBLOX, ROBLOX is an excellent game for kids to get a break from reality and meet new friends, It will always be the same game, No matter what they attempt to achieve, For example, Better graphics, ROBLOX has achieved a goal in my heart and lots of other children’s as well, That goal was helping us when we needed help and when we needed a break, ROBLOX will always be the best game I have ever came across on the internet, I hope the generation after all of us kids gets to know and love this game like we did.

    • I hope the same. That is, if this game doesn’t follow the same path as Spore did. The Maxis and EA admins abandonned it, left it with a rating system that soon was used as a form of bullying.

      Also, with no moderators, reporting those bullies has no effect. And if we try to complain about it on the Sporum, the forum moderators block the topic from receiving anymore posts!

      I hope the ROBLOX admins are smart enough to keep this game running, it’s one of the only games I like now that Spore is ruined!
