ROBLOX Game Conference 2012
ROBLOX Game Conference 2012 is approaching. Fast. There’s a lot of content on the docket so, this week, we unveiled a detailed schedule of events. If you’re coming to the conference, take a look and make note of the sessions you’d like to attend. A little planning will help ensure you see everything that’s important and interesting to you. In this, our fifth installment of the User Feedback series, John Shedletsky gives you the inside scoop on advanced sound capabilities in ROBLOX, a leveling-up system, GUI development and ROBLOX for 13+ users. New character parts for ROBLOX — an update
ROBLOX CEO David Baszucki also offered some feedback on ROBLOX’s new character parts, and looked at how they fit into ROBLOX’s big-picture vision.
Message queuing with RabbitMQ
ROBLOX’s Catalog is constantly being updated with new data. One of the ways we keep it – and the greater ROBLOX website — from getting bogged down with update requests and user searches is by sending those requests through a message queue. This frees up the web server to move onto the next item. This technical article describes our implementation of RabbitMQ for those savvy with web infrastructure.

Maybe ROBLOX you could make a thing where players could make their own hats. Like say as a example Group owners of large groups could have a certain hat combo without having the problem with people not being able to afford them. Like a hat template. Just a suggestion. I know you ALL are very busy but I think. Many of my fellow ROBLOXians would agree.
the thing i would love in a Roblox update is report for the exploiters/hackers where you can report them and the system would have a video camera where it would pull up what he/she did

I think that ROBLOX should have a loyalty program for non BC members. If you log on every day for a week, your daily amount of tix will rise. This way, non BC members can earn more tix and will be able to purchase more items.

That would defeat the purpose of a company. No matter how much honey is poured onto a statement, the final goal of a company is to make a profit. This is probably one of the reasons the ambassador’s program was taken out, instead of the “causing to much spam.”
Hi. You may know Roblox has taken out the BC games section. That area was made to purchase BC. One day, maybe all Robloxians will be equal. I have just realized we are being mistreated. The same as it was in the 60′s in the civil rights movement. We NBC’s shall fight for what’s right. But not in violence. In the way MLK intended Peaceful Protest. So please join the fight. Don’t give Bc’s any more profit. Don’t buy as much. So we can say : BC will go sour. You can only have fun if you pay money for it. You would get “exiled” from the BC club once your membership expired. Play more NBC games NBC -’ers. With civil disobedience we will win!
Non-BCrs stop your griping! Look at cars, if your credit is not good or you just don’t want to spend a bunch of money, you go with the base model of the car.
If you want all the bells and whistles, you fork over the extra money and get the GTS version of the car.
Non-BCrs…you have the LX model, just deal with it or get out there and mow some lawns to earn money for BC. And if you can’t have it because your parents won’t let you, you should be whining to them, not Roblox.
Roblox has to pay their employees somehow don’t you think? And why would people pay for BC if there weren’t more privileges and perks to it?

If there’s one thing that Roblox could really, really have that would be amazing, is if we could have user-made music and be able to upload music made using FL Studio, GarageBand, or any other music making program. ROBLOX has many, many great adventure games out there that could use their own fitting music to spice themselves up and not feel boring.
I might be wrong, but I think ROBLOX might of had something to do with user uploaded music or something. It would be cool, but would also take lots of moderation! Someone would have to listen to all of the uploaded music files to make sure nothing bad is on it.
If ROBLOX just had its own music maker they wouldn’t have to moderate it. All they have to do is remove the ability for voice recording.
Wow the new roblox bodie prototypes look kind of cool but im not too sure about them.

Go ahead and make new bodies, but I’m not getting BC ever again probably. Even if I get a PayPal, I won’t waste my money just so I can lose about every feature as soon as I get it.

I love the updates. The level up system wit hteh free items will be great. Maybe make it so NBCers can only make it to level 75. :D.

Oh, you mean the era of Roblox time when the scripts were outdated and mostly lowly functioning? No simple vehicles? No GUIs? No faces? I see you have a new one. You also have the updated bodies for BC. Oh, and you have a builders club-only game. Hm, all of these updates must mean something to you! Get over it. I’m from late 07, my accounts got banned. Anywho, I’m back and I dealt with the updates. You can too.
Well. If anything that could be used in a update. The BIGGEST update needed, is the EXPLOITION PATCH. Most of the games on ROBLOX is expoited 24/7 like UFO’s, people in god mode, people spawning there own hats.(Reason why some people NEVER buy hat’s which could bring a ROBLOX finace crash), people changing the teams to “F*ck you looseres” Yes, people DO put explicit team titles… ROBLOX really has to patch the exploits, just like MC and Steam TF2. Also, staff should READ THE REPORTS instead of banning spam reports to get a specific clan content deleted.
DLL injections cannot be patched.
They can make it harder to do a DLL injection tho so only veteran exploiters could do it
Well, whatever it is, try to prevent the exploition… Study MC, or runescape and try to prevent atleast MOST of it..
Because ROBLOX, is starting to loose MASSIVE ammounts of players/go downhill with not a single game to play. They are all exploiter/ baseplate deleted/people in god mode.
I hope you make the new bodies for NBC players…because ROBLOX would lose more players…The bodies are great…but the dicision of making the bodies for people that have BC is the worst idea ROBLOX ever had…yeah the staff made some mistakes in the past…like making the maps look close to the way Minecraft bricks look…I know they don’t look anything like them but when you think about it they do…a lot. So please trust me and make the bodies NBC it’ll add more players and it’ll make the players that disagree with the idea…but less players on ROBLOX…means that more players can join…And I mean c’mon you have to love the new idea…
BRING BACK USER MESHES PLEASE, I WANT TO MAKE MY OWN PACKAGE AS A MORPH!!!!! I know you got rid of it because some people were inserting inappropriate meshes, but an idea I have is that
a) Make some image moderators “mesh moderators”
b) Add a “Make a package or gear mesh” competition and you choose the ones which will go through =D =D. Please…BRING BACK USER MESHES

New Body Part’s Can be A Package Maybe Maybe Not
These new bodies are great. In fact, there is only 1 thing I miss from the “Old ROBLOX”, and it’s User-Made meshes, I really liked those. I hope you bring them back. :)

Everything bc is out of controle. roblox would be need bc to play make the bodes roblox nbc and further more put sesons in the game so it will snow and rain an hail thunder and litnign storms too.

I like what ROBLOX is doing, and by the way, the bodies (packages) will probably be NBC for a week and then go BC like all the others. And 13+ is fine with me.
Why? Lots of Roblox players are over 13…
let me guess… The new bodies are ONLY FOR BC players and the level up system can only let you go up to lvl 19 and only people with BC can go 20+….

Since I can’t be at the RGC 2012 I’ll have to sit from my seat in my place and hope and pray that someone puts it up on YouTube, but I hope that you will take ROBLOX back to when not everything was BC and some things were.
An example would be to make some of the more basic next generation bodies available for the free (NBC(Non-Builders Club) players too and not just the paying members, that way they can particapate in this great change too and not just sit on the sidelines wishing they could particapate.
Some of the things in ROBLOX lots of people are cool with, some people don’t though and that’s a reason why you should send notifications often and not just for trivial things. Some players I know don’t want the update just spilled on them like a stain on your new suit, just gradually go into some of the new updates.

If you want the new bodies, simly buy it. BCers get extra benefits because they paid.
There are too many BC-only features compared to Habbo’s VIP membership.
I personally don’t like the new bodies there arms kinda annoy me there just so weird. also the hands on them look like wrenches its kinda like a robot. this is just my opinion though.

If you look through the Roblox wiki then you will soon find that the name “ROBLOX” is made up of two words: “Robot” and “Blocks”. The reason why the characters don’t look very human-like and look rather machine-like or toy-like is because they were meant to be ‘robots’ or something like that. What they really did was just combine “Ro” with “Blocks”, then they came up with “ROBLOX”. Also, i hope these are optional and not needed, because i like my blocky bodies already.
Let me guess… Only BC players are going to be allowed to level up above level 20.

Help!Please! My mom won’t let me play ROBLOX because she says “I don’t like it” and then when I ask her why she says I don’t need to know why. I’ve tried everything to make her let me play it again! I played it and loved it but one day something happened and she said I can’t play it! If you don’t believe me see how long iv’e been trying! My User is Lochnessfreak. Help me please!
Learn how to script to give your mom a reason why you should be playing! That way you will be playing, you will know how to make stuff instead of sifting through the free models (if you do that is), and you will have a skill that will stick with you (as long as you use it that is) and if you get good enough you have a shot at another career option.

When are the new bodies gonna be in the catolog?
the new bodies aren’t good there copying lego minfigure designs
but, they are different. I plan on doing what I curently do with my packages. Only wear parts of some to make it look the best. You will be able to mix and match with this. You dont have to look just like what it shows.

Well the bodies aren’t a problem for me anymore because I think the bodies wont be used many if it is a BC feature at the beginning I tough it was going to replace the original free “Block-Body” but level up is cool and then earn things… for free xD
