Build Page to Fuel Game Development and Content Creation

BuildGame development and user-generated content fuel ROBLOX, and one of our goals is to make sure all users — not just paid members — know that they can build their own games and create original content. To that end, we recently introduced version one of the Build page, now accessible from the main navigation menu at Roblox.com.

The Build page centralizes all the content you’ve created: games, shirts, t-shirts, pants and models. While it currently serves as the easiest way to view and manage all your creations, separate from your inventory, our vision is for it to become a launch point for game development.

Build Page - GamesOne of the first steps toward realizing that vision is an Edit button that will launch ROBLOX Studio from the Build page. Our Web Team is building that functionality right now, and we believe such a quick, easy path will encourage more users — premium and free — to take advantage of Studio’s suite of development tools and increase the quantity and quality of content on ROBLOX.

As of today, here’s what the Build page offers:

  • My Games: Organize and configure your games, and view visit metrics for the last seven days and all time.
  • My Shirts: View a listing of the shirts you’ve created and launch the Shirt Builder, where you can upload textures for new shirts.
  • My T-Shirts: View a listing of the t-shirts you’ve created and launch the T-Shirt Builder, where you can upload textures for new t-shirts.
  • My Pants: View a listing of the pants you’ve created and launch the Pants Builder, where you can upload textures for new pants.
  • My Models: View the models you’ve created in ROBLOX Studio.

For shirts, t-shirts and pants, the Build page will also display how many you’ve sold. Keep in mind that selling items requires a Builders Club membership.

The Build page is not only useful to ROBLOX users who have already created content, but also those who are looking to take the step from game player to developer.

  3. Hey ROBLOX i have a great idea: BC Trials. when you first join you get to be able to try out BC for free for about 48 hours logged in. If a friend or family member E-Mailed you to join, you get 5 days of a free trial. You can also buy BC for ROBUX, BUT!! you would have to pay 1.5 times more the worth for the BC (tix preffered for most players) E.G. : You want to buy 4.99$ worth of BC, but in tix you must pay 7.50$ worth of tix to get the BC

    • You Are Right Thats a Very Good Idea you should Send it in to Roblox if you have Roblox Friend me and We Can Talk

    • if they got a free trial that means they would be able to keep all the places after and roblox would not make money :P

    • There’s a problem on that idea, tucky. If there is BC trials, people could start spamming new accounts and your friends keep sending you the email, and it could sooner or later bankrupt ROBLOX.

    • Yes good idea, 1 week of BC to try it out, if they liek it or not, they buy it!

  5. One of my games it dosen’t let me go on it anymore. SOmething about Windows 7. It lets me build but not play…(not the one I have active right now)

  7. yeah, my roblox studio isn’t working, no matter how much i do the directions CORRECTLY! roblox, when i bring up roblox with the roblox studio icon, and when i BUILD in my places with roblox studio on, i STILL can’t build! i looked in the menu, it wasnt there. D: i liked it when i could have roblox studio very quickly by just going to the menu and pressing roblox studio! it is just easier that way and it’s tougher with the new way! don’t you agree? most players who used to use roblox studios cant because they can’t seem to access it.

  11. ROBLOX should really fix the car mechanisms, the car just turns when you press D or the Left Arrow Key. And the should change the options for the car too, for example, SPM, which is Studs per Minute. They should also add suspension and steering mechanisms, so that non expert scripters (like me), can actually get to make something cool!
    That would be AWE-SOME!

  13. Studio is broken… Click edit in studio for a place, it shows a picture of the place with no toolbars at all….

  14. Im not commenting on this but i find this the only way to share my ideas. The wa groups os roblox should have a tournament of raids every 2 days. Then they can be organized as #1c or number 2# and so on. The groups should be in certain divisions-groups of 10 depending on how good they did in the tournament. Then they can be enemys or ally’s with certain groups in there division and raid eachother. The tournament should last until we are down to the fial war groups which will be a while, and i forgot to mention they will be raiding ten times in the tournament until they get put in divisions. That is my idea and i hope you guys like it. It will e fun.

    • You still have to have BC to make more than one place. And i love the new build page it makes it so much simpler.

    • I think you misunderstood. I don’t believe that it says that anywhere; they’re just saying this as an example. I could be wrong, of course, but I highly doubt that they’d start giving NBC more places.

  22. This is a great idea! But mostly it just fixes your mistake, which was how to go into play solo, before all you did was click play solo, but now you have to do 3 extra steps, just to do something so simple.

  41. As I had said in the forums, it has no create decal under the build new button.

  42. I love the new build system. It helps me see which of my items are being sold the fastest, so I don’t have to click on them to find out!

  45. I have always wanted to make a custom hat, here are my suggestions…

    Allow users to put decal(pic) on front of hat
    Allow users to choose hat color
    Allow users to choose hat design(visor, cap, etc)

    • You can already do that, I don’t like the idea of making it super simple.(Retexturing) Roblox will probably not ever let us wear hats we made ourselves, unless they get published.

This is good for people who join roblox and want to build a game.My friends use the build mode with the ps tools I can make a game with stuido and it makes it a hole lot better,Because with the Ps building tool has limits its kinda like what the admins add in roblox studio You can build whatever you want.

  53. I would prefer adding some touch ups, but the ‘build’ tab page seems great to organize my RPG models and place.

  54. I’m afraid of using this for places as it will make nine of my games inactive since I don’t have BC, because that is what the old ‘build’ thing did. Great idea, but not for someone afraid to loose their active places when they have lost BC.

  57. Yeah i think its great but maybe add a brick called fules that u can pick up then u click a wehicle and a GUI in vehicles for fule left

  59. The best part about it is that now, you can build on inactive places. That’s great and if it was a mistake, KEEP IT!

  63. Having My Models have a subsection for Badges you created, and then another section for all the other stuff would be a good idea.

    Also as other’s have mentioned, what about a section for Decals?

  64. Can you put a delete button in so we can delete models/decals we don’t want any more?

    I don’t want some of the models I’ve made any more.

  68. A little Off-Topic, but when will we be able to change our characters colors in-game? Like when I enter a game with blue “skin”, even if I change it, it’ll stay blue.

  69. I haven’t used this function yet, but it sounds like a good idea. I can’t wait to be making my own places!
