If you’ve been following us on Twitch.TV, you’re probably aware that we’ve been sharing more announcements, information games via live broadcasts. After our first episode of The Next Level, NobleDragon posited an interesting question: “Why don’t we have commercials?”
This lead to a brief internal discussion, which has manifested itself in this blog post! Crazy how things work, right? And though we agreed that, yes, we should be airing commercials during our broadcasts, we’re leaving the content of them to you. That said, we’re kicking off a ROBLOX commercial contest. Your commercial can be about anything ROBLOX-related — your favorite group, your favorite item, the game you love most — and we’ll favor those that are ridiculously funny and/or entertaining. After the entry period, we’ll pick our favorites to air during our livestreams on Twitch.TV.
To enter, create a 30-second commercial and upload it to YouTube to obtain a working URL. Submit your YouTube link to: email@example.com. Make sure to leave your ROBLOX username in the body of the email, along with your link. We will not look at any videos without ROBLOX usernames. You can title your commercial whatever you want, though it must have the words “ROBLOX Commercial” somewhere in the title. Your deadline is March 9th, 11:59 PM PST. Here are some basic guidelines to get you started.
- Absolutely must be ROBLOX-themed — this means an ad for a ROBLOX game, virtual item, group, meme, anything
- Your commercial can be no longer than 30 seconds
- Your commercial must have an output resolution of at least 720P
- You must save the original file you upload to YouTube; if we choose your commercial, we will contact you to obtain the original file
- Standard ROBLOX rules apply to all videos
The winners will be aired in one of our livestreams — whether that’s an episode of The Next Level or one of our monthly BLOXcasts — so keep watching every broadcast to see which commercials we choose. If we air your submission, you will receive an exclusive virtual item and credit live on the air! So, there you have it. Start cooking up ideas and send them our way! We can’t wait to see what you come up with.
