Wow, it looks like there are almost 80 places entered in this contest, and almost 30 YouTube videos. That’s great!

Some reminders:

The contest ends at midnight (end of the day, 23:59 time) on Tuesday October 2nd. That’s just 4 more days!

The Roblox Team is visiting places and taking notes until that time. Who is on the Roblox Team? All the developers and moderators. We will take a vote for each category to find the winners.

The YouTube contest ends at the same time and is judged by number of visits.

The Roblox Team has been secretly visiting the Roblox Spooky Building Contest entries and taking copious notes. Perhaps we are the Robloxian spirits. OoOoooOooo.

It looks like there are almost 60 places entered so far. Wow! There are some pretty interesting things out there in your RSBC places, that’s for sure! 

Reminder - the contests end at Midnight on Oct. 2, 2007 (Pacific Standard Time). We will continue judging and taking notes until then. The YouTube Video contest ends at the same time.

For the past couple of weeks, kids all across Robloxia have been trekking back to school. Yes, sadly summer is over.

Luckily for students, the Roblox bookstore is now receiving periodic shipments of fresh textbooks! Woo, textbooks! For the remainder of September, we are going to be adding new textbooks to the Roblox Catalog almost every day. You can purchase a book for your favorite subject and wear it on your head!

All textbooks will sell for 15 R$. These books will appear and disappear from the Catalog at random times. Some of them will end up being quite common, others will be hard to get hold of. Collecting them all - that will be quite a challenge. Keep you eyes on the Catalog, you will never know when a new one will pop up!

Builderman recently met with a mysterious journalist at a local Starbricks coffee shop to be interviewed for an upcoming tell-all book. The identity of the journalist remains unknown, as she was wearing a paper sack over her head. Around the office we’ve been calling her simply Ms. X.

Ms. X’s book, tentatively entitled “Fait Lux: The Life and Times of a Builderman”, is due out in stores this holiday season. In the meantime, here’s a portion of the interview transcript. Builderman will be signing copies of the new book at an opening event in Bricks & Noble on December 1st.

Ms. X: How old are you?
BM: 44.

Ms. X: Where did you go to college?
BM: Stanford.

Ms. X: What first inspired the idea for ROBLOX?
BM: Hi - My partner and I always wanted to build the ulimate online
“building toy”.

Ms. X: Are you married, or do you have children?
BM: Yes - married, four kids ages 3-10.

Ms. X: Is ROBLOX headquarters REALLY located in Robloxia?
BM: Nope, we’ve in Redwood City, CA

Ms. X: Who do you see as competition in the virtual world space?
BM: Not as much any one player as the general rising quality of all the
things that kids have access to - movies, video games, online games, you
name it!

Ms. X: Do you plan on keeping ROBLOX a small, kid friendly buisness, or
do you hope to expand Roblox to world-wide perspectives?
BM: We want to expand!

Ms. X: Who do you think is your best employee at ROBLOX?
BM: We’re very careful in who we hire - all are great!

Ms. X: What is in the future for ROBLOX?
BM: We pretty much want to do everything in the suggestions box – everything needs to be bigger, better, and more realistic…
