User Twenty-two

180d707764383ae4ed3aec7d750f5731It’s Keith! One of the original supporters of the ROBLOX vision has recently joined the team as our Product Manager. That means he’ll be helping us decide what features to work on first.

You can send him ideas - but don’t make demands! He’s already just as busy as the rest of the team.

Keith was formerly an Aeronautics and Astronautics engineer. He has a family and lives locally to ROBLOX. He also likes Batman the original TV show!

We hope you’ll make him feel welcome!

More Egg Hunt Hints

HardEggs

Our last scheduled Roblox egg hunt is running right now! Eggs will be raining from the sky until approximately 3pm PST, 6pm EST.

At this point, everyone has figured out how most of the eggs work. Here’s some hints for capturing some of the harder ones:

Golden Egg of Kings

This haughty egg won’t let you pick it up unless you look like royalty. That means you need to be wearing a crown of some sort. You can use the Golden Crown, Void Star, Domino Crown, Ice Crown, or the Black Iron Crown of Pwnage for this.

Wanwood Egg of ZOMG!

This giant egg falls from the sky, crushing anything it lands on. The trick to getting this egg is to have patience. Every 30 seconds or so the egg will diminish in size. When it gets to be the same size as the other eggs, it is safe to pick up. Trying to pick it up before it gets small is not recommended.

Bombastic Egg of Annihilation

This egg flies around and shoots homing rockets at random players. Sometimes it will fade out of existence briefly, create a huge explosion, then pop back. This egg can either be very easy or very hard to get, depending where you are. If it is on the ground, or if you are in a level with jetboots or teleporting tools, it’s easy. If it’s hovering 50 studs above the baseplate and you have no way of reaching it, it’s hard.

Legendary Egg of Gygax

Ok, so it doesn’t really look like an egg. It’s actually a 20-sided die. If you check out the item description, there’s a hint that tells you exactly how to get this egg. You need to roll a “critical success”. In other words, a 20. But be careful… If you touch this egg when the 20 is not face-up, it will blow you to smithereens. Whoops.

Egg Madness!

EggGraph

Here’s a scorecard for our egg hunt thus far. Over 7000 players have successfully located at least one egg. The next egg hunt will take place tomorrow. Check out my previous post to see the schedule.

Secrets of the Eggs Revealed… Part 1

FakeEggs

Fake Eggs

The above eggs appear in the “Recently Updated” section of the Catalog, but don’t actually exist. I put them in to fake out people who were watching my every move as I was setting up the Egg Hunt contest. This contest goes to 11.

ChessPuzzle

Puzzling Egg

The Puzzling Egg of Enigma is rather common, so probably a lot of people have encountered it. Ideally, you find it in a nice quiet level where no one is shooting at you and you have time to think.

Touching the egg makes it turn red, and then it drops a chessboard on you. The board shows a position where white can force a win in 2 moves. Say the winning move aloud, and the board and egg will turn green. Now you can pick up the egg.

There are a couple of different chess puzzles, but each user will always see the same one. So if you can’t figure it out in-game, you can think about it for a while and be ready when it appears again.

Kind Egg of Sharing

SharingEgg When this egg drops, you’ll see that it is quite dark. Every time a different person touches this egg, it gets a little brighter. After 3 different people have touched it, you can pick it up.

The best way to get this egg is to be in a map with some friendly people who will help you out. You can also look for groups of them, that way everyone in your posse can touch each of the sharing eggs and everyone can get one.

Eggstravaganza!

Eggs

ROBLOX is hosting an egg hunt!

Places and Times

The egg hunt will be happening in all places at the following times:

Friday - 2pm Eastern, 1pm Central, 11am Pacific Time, lasting about an hour.

Saturday - 2pm Eastern, 1pm Central, 11am Pacific Time, lasting about an hour.

Sunday - 2pm Eastern, 1pm Central, 11am Pacific Time, lasting about 4 hours.

Eggs may show up intermittently at other times, but the above times are the scheduled egg hunt hours. At these times, there will be lots of eggs to be found. We apologize ahead of time to serious bloxxers and miked paintball fanatics for egging your game.

Meet the Eggs

Now for the twist… There are 11 different types of eggs that you can find in this hunt.

Some of them, like the Stationary Egg of Boring can be captured just by touching them. When you do so, you will hear a trumpet sound, indicating that you have won this egg. It will show up momentarily in your My Stuff page. Captured eggs can be worn on your head like a trophy.

Other eggs, like the mysterious Kind Egg of Sharing and the Puzzling Egg of Enigma require you to solve some puzzle or meet some condition before they will allow you to pick them up. There are hints provided in the egg descriptions. More information about each egg will be slowly revealed in the News section over the next couple of days, so check back here!
