Chinese New Year is coming!
To celebrate, we’ve got some beautiful new hats! Also, as promised, we’re releasing even more new faces!
Hats
Red Hat of the Orient – This hat is a clockwork original. It is made out of detailed fabric, which you can’t really see from the picture. In-game it looks totally sweet. I want a blue one, so maybe you’ll see it again sometime.
The Moon – Alright kids. One of these three hats does not belong. Which is it? LOL. Don’t miss this chance to tell all your friends about how you are rich enough to buy the moon.

Good Intentioned – This face is friendly, but shy. Goes great with this hat.
Chippy McTooth – This face is for players who don’t like to go to the dentist. I think that means everybody.
Slickfang – Man, that is one cool customer. All the cool-looking faces really go great with a fedora. Or hide behind a Bluesteel Bathelm.
:-o – You know, it’s not my favorite emoticon, but it is a stalwart standby. I haven’t tried it, but I imagine it would go great with this hat. :-o

I spent this morning basking in the undying love of our thousands of users. It was great for my ego, and now I have a nice tan.
Thanks go out to the more than 2000 people whom submitted entries to the “I <3 ROBLOX and I <3 ________” event. It was really interesting to see what you guys <3 (besides ROBLOX, that is!).
We’ve finally finished awarding all the exclusive “I <3 ROBLOX” Signs. Those of you who entered and got a sign for free have made a great choice because these signs are guaranteed to increase in rarity and value over time. For those of you who missed out, don’t worry: there is always another contest around the bend.
What to do if you did not get a sign
A small group of ROBLOX moderators went through the 1000s of emails that you guys sent us and handed me a list of names of accounts that deserved hats. If you submitted an image but did not get the sign, then one of three things happened:
- Your image was not a real photo and was made in photoshop. These were not valid entries and don’t get a sign. We told you so in the contest rules.
- You sent in a great image, but it was after the January 20th deadline. Sorry, but we can’t accept late entries.
- You sent in a great image, but you spelled your username wrong in the email. Whoops!
- You sent in a great image, but one of the moderators creating the list of names for me made a typo. Whoops!
If and only if you think #3 or #4 happened to you, email the nice people at info@roblox.com and politely inform them that we owe you a sign. Make sure you tell us your account name.

Look at all that love! It’s awesome.
Sometime in the next 24 hours about 200 of the early entries will get a special surprise hat! It’s not a surprise really since we already showed it. But it is special. The rest of the deliveries will go out over the next week or so. Everyone who enters by the deadline (and has a valid image) will get the special surprise hat.
Important News: There is now a deadline to submit your event entry. We will only give hats to people who send in the entry before Sunday January 18 at midnight Pacific time. That’s 23:59 on Sunday, 0:00 on Monday - the midnight that comes between Sunday and Monday. I can’t think of any other ways to say it.
If you submit on Monday it’s toooooo late. Get your family to help you get this done this weekend. Ok?
Only a few entries have been fakey paint program mashups. Those people will not be getting something. Just follow the instructions and it’s so easy!
We’ve gotten photos of toys, games, pets, foods, clothes, music, books, sports gear…. gosh. You can compare ideas on the forum. You guys are helping us out so much! Thanks.

Woot! It’s Friday!
To celebrate, we are releasing some new loot!
Hats
ROBLOX Visor – We’ve retired the 2008 Visor. It’s history! This stylin’ new visor inaugurates the opening of 2009. The price? 9 tickets. Makes sense.
Mining Helmet – So there’s a story behind this one. We’ve been sitting on it for more than 6 months because we thought it would be cool to release it with a working flashlight head lamp. Sadly, these plans have been shelved for the moment. In the meantime, hundreds of Robloxians have been toiling away in dangerous mines without head protection! It’s unconscionable to let the situation continue as it is, so we’re releasing this hat without further delay.
Tin Pot – Now you, too, can be a tin pot dictator of your own little kingdom. Not included: kingdom.
Faces
As promised in my last post, I’ve got a pile of faces made by professional artists that I intend to release slowly over the next several weeks. Here is the most recent installment!
Mysterious – A great spy face. Goes well with the fedora.
I Am Not Amused – There’s a malcontent in every bunch! For 250 R$, you can show everyone how not amused you are.
Alright – A nice face for friendly players. I like wearing it with the Tixsplosion, because that many tickets is enough to make anyone smile. But whatever.
Sad Zombie – Zombies vs. Vampires! Which will turn out to be more popular? This face is the first in a series of faces that I’m working on. If the idea of sad zombies doesn’t make you lolololol you should probably stick with something more normal.

The event is officially over. We got tons of entries! Like, thousands of entries. Thanks to everyone who sent in a photo of themselves, the sign, and an item. Now we have a great list of user-suggested products to advertise. With your awesome pictures we can go to the companies who make these things and show them that our users are very enthusiastic! And then the ads on ROBLOX will be much more fun. Hooray!
