Come Meet ROBLOX at GDC 2013
by Andrew Haak
There’s been a buzz within the game industry — ROBLOX HQ included — over the past few days’ lead-up to Game Developers Conference 2013, which kicked off today in San Francisco. The self-proclaimed largest and longest-running professionals-only game industry event brings together programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, business decision-makers and others involved in game development to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry.
ROBLOX will be manning a booth at GDC 2013 from Wednesday through Friday. Our primary focus will be meeting potential candidates to join the ROBLOX team, but we’ll also be there to talk technology and demonstrate cross-platform gameplay with our internally developed ROBLOX Battle game running on laptops and iPads. We’d love to have you stop by and learn more about us over a rousing round of frantic fragging and physically simulated destruction. If you have serious skills, you can enter one of our daily tournaments for a chance to win an Amazon gift card.
We’re looking to expand our team and vastly improve the quality of the ROBLOX user experience, from the web to building/content creation to gameplay. To that end, we have open positions for Senior Gameplay Engineer, Senior Web Engineer, Senior Game Designer, Senior 3D Physics Engineer, Senior C++ / QT Software Engineer, Senior Network Programmer and more – take a look at our Jobs page for a comprehensive listing. We made great strides in 2012, but we have bigger plans for 2013. We’d love to talk to you more about what it’s like to be part of the ROBLOX team and our values, and what we plan to achieve in the future. Find us at GDC here:
- Booth 1444 (Moscone South, Lower Level)
- 747 Howard St. (between 3rd & 4th St.)
San Francisco, CA 94103
We’ll report back at least briefly about our time at GDC 2013 in the near future. For now, be on the lookout for our red and black ROBLOX shirts and feel free to say “hi.”
